The Areté Society firmly believes that voluntary service fosters responsible citizens. In fact, it is common for many members of the Honors College to contribute hundreds of hours of volunteer work throughout the year. From caring for neglected animals at the local humane society to assisting those affected by a natural disaster, Honors College students truly recognize the importance of giving back. A number of Honors College students gave back to the community Monday night by building a maze and handing out candy to hundreds of local children as part of the annual Henderson Halloween celebration.
Members of the Areté Society were among more than 500 Henderson students, faculty and staff who volunteered their time to complete 55 projects in and around Arkadelphia on October 8 as part of “Reddie to Serve” day.
